The Public Affairs Associate support the company’s issues management and communications with internal and external stakeholders.  Working in China team, the incumbent will develop public policy expertise necessary to represent the business on issues affecting trade, customs, transportation, sustainability, and postal competition.       

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support Public Affairs and issues management function for China District
  • Represent the business with government, trade associations, and other stakeholders on policy issues including transportation, customs, trade, and regulatory  
  • Act as liaison between UPS functions and external stakeholders, and provide internal communications and briefings to relevant business functions in China
  • Analyze public policy issues and understand the best practices
  • Staffing of executives
  • Supervise administrative staff on logistics, travel, and company communications to other functions 

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum degree qualification in International Affairs, Political Science or equivalent
  • 2-3 years relevant experience working on public policy issues with good understanding of public policy
  • Complete fluency in English and Mandarin  
  • Ability to communicate effectively with excellent presentation, writing and public speaking skills
  • Maintain integrity and professionalism at all times
  • Ability to handle multi-tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
  • Ability to gather information, analyze and synthesize for reporting purposes
  • Proactive team player and with strong interpersonal, planning, organizing and follow up skills
  • Willingness to travel
