Visual Search Infrastructure Engineer

The visual Search and Mobile Innovation team is hiring a visual search infrastructure engineer. The team creates solutions aimed at helping customers search and discover the world around them via a camera-phone view. They are developing advanced technologies to leverage our vast catalog of images in ways that dramatically improve the customer experience. They tackle complex problems in computer vision, image recognition, deep learning, and large-scale distributed systems. 

As a Software Engineer in Visual Search you will:

• Design, implement, and deploy full-stack computer vision solutions for customers
• Build on the Visual Search team's core technology
• Implement scalable and robust computer vision and machine learning services
• Investigate and solve exciting and difficult practical challenges in delivering compute- and resource-intensive applications on mobile devices that employ image recognition and understanding, classification, deep learning, augmented reality, multi-view geometry and reconstruction.
• Use the latest advances in computer vision, neural networks and machine learning to bring new experiences for our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• MS in Computer Science or related field or BS in Computer Science or related field with equivalent industry experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in C++ or C#, Java, and scripting.
• At least 1 year of software development experience in the industry implementing and deploying production code and services.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 years of software development experience including experience developing efficient mobile applications or hosted back-end services.
• Demonstrated successful project execution in a software development role.
• Exposure to computer vision and machine learning or data mining algorithms.
• Experience deploying solutions to AWS or cloud services a plus.
• Experience with leveraging and augmenting large code base and libraries to deliver software packages.
• Excellent communication skills, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to write production-quality code.
