English Teacher for Middle School
Introduction
This Bilingual School is a private, coeducational academy for Chinese students located in Shanghai’s Jinshan District. It is fully supported by the Chinese government and dedicated to providing students with advanced international curriculum from grades 1-12 (At present we have only the sixth grade and the first grade).
In addition to offering required subjects such as Chinese, Civic Education, Geography, and History, the school implements an international curriculum completely in English. Students rotate classrooms between subjects and use English-language textbooks for all courses except Chinese. By introducing American-style learning methods and requiring students to take the majority of their courses in English, the school prepares students to smoothly adjust to elite international universities after graduation.
Job Description
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for full-time licensed teachers or has at least 2 years of teaching experience and holds a teaching certificate such as: TELF, TESOL or CELTA. This is a great opportunity for passionate and outgoing individuals who want to change the lives of students and want to be a part of a committed and dedicated community of teachers from all over the world. Our teachers are expected to:
- Sign a 10 month contract with the school
- Teach 14-18 and no more than 21 teaching periods per week (Duration: 40 minutes/period)
- Hold office hours for students
- Follow school regulations and rules
- Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
- Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
- Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments, exams, etc.)
- Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback
- Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents and administration and participate in regular meetings
- Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities
- Observe and understand students’ behavior and educational needs
- Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences, etc.
Qualifications and Eligibility:
- License teacher or teaching certificate such as: TELF, TESOL, CELTA (>120 hrs)
- Holds a US, UK, CANADIAN, NEW ZEALAND, or AUSTRALIAN passport
- Holds a Bachelor Degree or above
- Must pass health-check and criminal record
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures

Salary Package
- Competitive Salary: 16,100 RMB per month (first year); 17, 900RMB (second year),
19, 200RMB (third year) including monthly transportation subsidy.
- Free dormitory accommodation –fully equipped with modern furnishings
-Performance-based bonus: up to 25% of the monthly payment excluding housing stipend and transportation subsidy
-Annual bonus: 42,250 RMB provided at the end of the year for the 1st year, 43,940RMB for 2nd year, and 101,730RMB for the 3rd year
-Round-trip airfare reimbursement provided after contract completion (up to RMB 7800)
-Legal Z-work visa provided and foreign expert certificate
-Winter break including spring festival and all government holidays paid time off
