Job Description

  • A Mechanical & Structures Design Specialties Engineer- focus on Cabin Interior Structure is required to support the goals and objectives of the various Boeing commercial programs (737/747/767/777/787) and projects being conducted by Boeing Research & Technology in the country of China, in the area of airplane interiors and flight deck design and fabrication. We are looking for someone who can lead and collaboratively work with engineers and researchers in the US, and act as the company representative at the supplier, sub-tier supplier, and academic premises. Familiarity with airplane interiors manufacturing processes, material characteristics and ergonomics are required to support research and development with the aim of satisfying customer and production requirements.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Interface with internal stakeholders to provide relevant research and development work products which support airplane interior design and production.
  • Identify and lead Research & Development (R&D) projects to support the development of new and innovative airplane interiors, focusing on cabin features and materials. 
  • Identify and lead R&D projects which support airplane interior production quality, safety, and reduce production costs and flows. 
  • Identify and lead R&D projects in ergonomics which influence airplane interiors design in support of customer differentiation.

 

Job Requirements

  • Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or similar Bachelor or above degrees are appropriate. 
  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience in relevant application areas.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Engineering background.
  • Prior experience with commercial airplane cabin interiors with OEM or sub-tier suppliers.
  • Flexibility to work on different technology areas and applications related to aerospace manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to work in multidiscipline teaming environments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
  • Candidate must demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following aerospace areas: engineering design, manufacturing, fabrication, assembly lines, production control, and quality assurance. 
  • Candidate must be eligible working in China.
