- East Stroudsburg, PA and then China
The Production Assistants for the National Youth Orchestra of China (NYO-China) will play an integral role in the program. 2017 will be NYO-China’s inaugural year and will bring a 100-member orchestra of young Chinese musicians to the United States to train and debut in Carnegie Hall before a concert tour of China. The students will be between the ages of 14 and 21 and will be selected via a virtual audition process. NYO-China’s concert series begin in Carnegie Hall on July 22 and ends July 30 in Shanghai, China. With the Production Stage Manager, the Production Assistants will work primarily with venues in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou), but must begin work coordinating with venues beforehand. The essential role of the Production Assistants is to, with the Production Stage Manager, work with each of the concert halls to take care of logistical details and to ensure that each concert runs smoothly. The Production Assistants are expected to be on campus at East Stroudsburg University by July 19 in preparation for the concert tour. All room, board, and travel within the concert tour is provided and compensation is $800 per week.
